The “Marin Drăcea” National Institute for Research and Development in Forestry (INCDS) has announced the results of the application process for the ForestValue2 Summer Training Course, “Dendroscience: A Tool to Understand Future Forest Resilience to Climate Change.”

The course will take place in Brașov, Romania, from 24–29 August 2026, with support from the Transilvania University of Brașov.

Selection results

INCDS received 24 eligible applications from early-stage researchers in several countries. Following the evaluation process, 19 participants were selected:

  • 9 researchers from EU13 countries, Turkey, and Portugal.
  • 3 researchers from the Republic of Moldova.
  • 5 researchers from Ukraine.

The selected group comprises 57% men and 43% women.

All applicants have been informed of the selection results and available travel options by email. Selected participants will soon receive details about accommodation, travel arrangements—including airport transfers between Otopeni Airport and Brașov—and the final course programme.

INCDS warmly welcomes the selected researchers to Brașov for this training opportunity focused on using tree-ring parameters to assess drought impacts, forest resilience, and climate–growth relationships.
