Announcement of the ForestValue2 Joint Call 2023

ForestValue2 transnational call for proposals for research, development and innovation in the forest-based sector is launched on 02 May 2023, with an indicative public funding of up to 7 million €.
This Joint Call is self-sustained, meaning the participating funders will provide the funding without any co-funding from the European Commission.
The ForestValue2 Joint Call 2023 aims to support a transnational collaborative systems approach to produce knowledge that supports the best use of forests and forest resources, while balancing the multiple benefits for society, climate, environment and the economy.
The Call has two themes:
Theme 1 – Resilient sustainable forest systems and management
Theme 2 – Sustainable timber building systems

- Latvia: Latvian Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences (LAAFS)
- Norway: The Research Council of Norway (RCN)
- Poland: National Science Centre (NCN)
- Romania: National Institute for Research and Development in Forestry (INCDS)
- Slovenia: Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation (MVZI)
- Spain: Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI)
Please note that individual national funding organisations may be limited in the kind of project and the kind of organisation they could support. These restrictions, as well as other important national regulations, can be found in Annex IV “Specific National Rules” to the Call Text (see below ‘Links and downloads’.

NLC has a budget of EUR 30,000.00 allocated for cooperation of NLC research team(s) in ForestValue2 proposals.

ForestValue2 supports transnational networking between stakeholders (academia, industry, NGOs etc.) and building of consortia with the below measures.

If you are interested in connecting with other stakeholders and/or enlarge your consortium, you are welcome to complete the ForestValue2 Networking Survey. The Survey information will be published below in PDF format. The file will be updated once per week until end of August 2023 (deadline for submission of proposals: 01.09.2023).
