The European Forest Research and Innovation Ecosystem (EUFORE) is a Horizon Europe project funded by the European Union, running from November 2022 to October 2026. The project aims to develop a sustainable, transnational, co-creative environment to define, implement and evaluate research and innovation (R&I) agenda and roadmap for the entire forest-based value chains in Europe. EUFORE now invites all interested stakeholders from research, governance, regulators, industry and businesses, as well as civil society to help in this work.

You can choose just to follow EUFORE news and highlights or you can volunteer for a more active participation between several options: participate to a survey on R&I needs, workshops on projects’s scientific results, regional/ EU-level meetings to co-create a Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) or to thematic working groups to actually draft the SRIA, it’s your call.

The EUFORE activities are to support the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research Strategic Working Group on Forests and Forestry Research and Innovation (SCAR FOREST) in the preparation of a European R&I Partnership on Forests and Forestry, launched for a 7-year period during the 2nd Strategic Plan of Horizon Europe in 2025-2028, if successful. A Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) is a precondition to launch a partnership and needs to be agreed with the European Commission. Hence, the R&I agenda setting requires an extensive stakeholder consultation process. EUFORE’s work creates a solid collaborative basis for the development of a possible European Research and Innovation Partnership on Forests and Forestry.
