The ForestValue2 Open Science Seminar, held in September 2024 in collaboration with Forestvalue2 JC2023 funded project CRESTIMB, highlighted open research practices within the forestry sector. Featuring speakers like Dr. Maria Pawlowska and Dr. Rainer Krug, the seminar focused on the principles of open science, transparency in research, and collaborations through platforms like Open Research Europe, represented by Sam Hall. These initiatives aim to enhance accessibility to scientific data and knowledge. The seminar emphasized the benefits of open science for innovation and sustainable forestry practices.

We have learned about the UNESCO Open Science Toolkit that is designed to support implementation of the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science, the first international standard-setting instrument on open science.
